Auðsholtshjáleiga / Horse export
Team Auðsholtshjáleiga has been a part of the Champions league since 2010. The first two years the team members where only women but now this is a mixed team. The team made no changes this year but the riders are, Ásmundur Ernir Snorrason, the team leader, and Sylvía Sigurbjörnsdóttir, Þórdís Erla Gunnarsdóttir and Bjarni Bjarnason.
Ásmundur Ernir Snorrason, liðstjóri, works as a horse trainer at Strandarhöfuð in Landeyjar. He was the most promising rider of the year 2012 and has been really successful on the competition track since he was a young boy. He has been in finals at Landsmót and Íslandsmót and he has gotten several Icelandic championships title. In the past he has been competing on Reyr frá Melabergi and Spölur frá Njarðvík. He and Spölur where a part of the Icelandic national team at WC2017 in Oirschot, but they where in finals both in tölt and four gait.
Bjarni Bjarnason is from Þóroddsstaðir. He graduated from Hólar and has shown breeding horses with good results. Bjarni has been really successful in pace racing but he became the Icelandic champion in 100m. pace race in 2014 and 2015 on Hera frá Þóroddsstöðum. Bjarni also set a world and an icelandic record in pace on Hera, summer 2014 and again at Landsmót 2016 so he hold the world record in 250m. pace. Bjarni was also nominated as the pace rider of 2016
Janus Halldór Eiríksson works at Laugarbakkar in the south of Iceland. He has gotten great results on the breeding track and also on the competition track riding i.a. Barði frá Laugarbökkum.
Sylvía Sigurbjörnsdóttir graduated at the top of her class at Hólar as a riding instructor and trainer. Sylvía is really professional and has wowed the audience with her harmonious riding.
Þórdís Erla Gunnarsdóttir graduated as a riding instructor and trainer from Hólar university. She works at Grænhóll but Þórdís has been around horses since she was a child. She has done really well on the competition and breeding track.
