This is the first year that Lífland has a team in the Champions League. All team members have been in the League before but they are Davíð Jónsson, Guðmundur Björgvinsson, Sigursteinn Sumarliðason, Jakob S. Sigurðsson og John K. Sigurjónsson.
Davíð Jónsson works at Skeiðvellir. Davíð has been really successful on the pace track these last years but he won the 100m. pace race at Landsmót 2012 in Reykjavík on Irpa frá Borgarnesi.
Guðmundur Björgvinsson is a certified FT trainer. He runs his business at Efri-Rauðalæk with his wife, Eva Dyröy. Guðmundur has been really successful at the competition track but he was i.e. Icelandic champion in four gait 2012 and 2015. He has been a couple of times in the Icelandic national team i.e. in 2013 he won two golds on the breeding track at the WC in Berlin and in 2015 he became the World Champion in four gait on Hrímnir frá Ósi. Guðmundur was elected the rider of the year in 2012 and 2015 and pace rider of the year in 2017 but he broke the Icelandic record in 100m. pace in 2017. Guðmundur won the individual competition in the leauge 2013.
Jakob Svavar Sigurðsson graduated as a riding instructor and trainer from Hólar. He recently moved to Fákshólar where he is training horses. He has won mulltiple Icelandic Championship titles and was a world champion in tölt in 2017. Jakob won the B class at Landsmót 2016 riding Nökkvi frá Syðra-Skörðugili and placed third in the A class riding Skýr frá Skálakot. He was the sport rider of the year in 2012, 2013 and 2017, gæðinga rider of the year in 2016 and rider of the year in 2017.
John Kristinn Sigurjónsson is a registered horse trainer at FT. John has been getting good results in both competitions and breeding shows. He won i.a. five gait in the Champiosn leauge 2012 riding Konsert frá Korpu.
Sigursteinn Sumarliðason works at Ármót. Sigursteinn has gotten good results at the competition track both in sport and gæðinga competitions, especially tölt but he won the tölt at Landsmót two years in a row 2011 and 2012 riding Alfa frá Blesastöðum 1A.
